About

Malkhamb Yoga is the ancient form of Indian Gymnastics. Its roots can be

traced back to the time of the Indian God, Hanuman, the Lord of Monkeys.
The art form of Malkhamb was restored in the 19 th century in the court of
Peshwa Bajirao II of Pune.
The Indian art of Akhara khusti, (wrestling), was established in 1930 to
train the youth for the freedom struggle. There are 15 Akharas still functional
in the city. Come experience the art form and try your hand at these sports.
